Just seen this on H&H http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/news/397/314593.html
watched video but it doesn't really show how it works.....

Looks like a nice rug though but price a bit toppish. I have a bit of a thug so am quite interested as haven't bought him any rugs yet as he's still growing and fits my old mare's stuff for the time being.

What do you think of it?

No matter what you do, what inventions you come up with, how well they work there is one thing for absolute certain - They will never work on a Shetland Pony!!!

I don't like it.

What happens if your horse becomes entangled in the fence by the straps? A pony at a yard I was on fell into a ditch and was tangled in the tape which was still running a current through him. When found, another livery pulled the tape up, taking the current herself until help was alerted. The pony died.

I do not think electric fencing is suitable for a stallion or for foals.

Electric fencing is fine for mature, settled horses but it isn't a substitiute for post and rail or hedges.

Way too expensive! What's wrong with fixing a bit of tape inside a normal rug? Good idea though for those with plenty of cash! Horses must also learn to respect fencing I couldn't keep a horse that constantly escapes, just too dangerous and worrying in this day and age.
