Hi, i have just taken on a new field, i have moved my wooden stables there, we have no running water there only a natural spring that bubbles up from under ground, we have tested the water and its safe to drink, we also have no electric at the field.

Was wondering if anyone else has these problems and if the have any tips please.
Thanks

i have just bought some solar shed lights about £13 they are brill ok not that bright but give you enough light to see what you need to do and very easy to put up too, get some water butts to run off stables its amazing how much you get off the roofs

A good LED head torch! I have the same problem...no water at all or elec. I have put good guttering on my mobile field stable and hooked it up to several water butts. I can get through most of the year like this and ensure the ones off the guttering are emptied first so that they refill when we get more rain. If I need to do any cleaning of horse etc I walk him round to my house and stand him on the driveway...my farrier does his shoes here too.
I use a really good head torch and always carry spare batteries with me, I can skip out and poo pick using thsi with no problems. My lad is out 24/7 so no mucking out to do, but I have done it in the past ok.
You could look at some of the solar stuff hooked up to lights, I have not looked at it as am ok without.
If I run out of water I have big carryable containers that I bring round in my car each day.

i thought the same as you when we first started renting a field with nothing (my girls live out 24/7 so no mucking out). There was an auto water trough at the top of a 6acre field so asked the farmer if i could buy the piping and fetch it down nearer to the mobile stables wed bought. (problem was my youngster pulled the trough off the pipe so i had to keep turning the water off to the field when the troughs were full just in case she did it again)

I had no electric there either so for electric fencing i used batteries, and for the stables/field room in the winter we invested in 6 flourescent lights from costco. They were about £12 each and if used on both tubes they lasted for 1 1/2hrs, but i only ever used them for about 20mins. Tbh i very rarely used them as i could get up before it went dark to make the feeds and it didnt matter if it was dark to feed them etc.

ive now just moved into my owned land. We still dont have water on mains or electric yet but were waiting to hear from both companies as to when they can be put on. Im bringing water down in cannisters about 2-3 times a week and im still using the electic fencing off batteries. itll be really odd have mains water and electric after not having it for about 5 years
