New Foal- Essential Update

Here's some photos of our new filly born May 4th. I still can't get over how long her legs are and I just love the little question mark on her head! She will be KWPN registered.

What a little beauty! And doesn't mum look well. As above, what is her breeding?

She's out of the coloured KWPN stallion 'Update' and mum is also KWPN Aram/ Nimmerdor lines.

Technically we ordered a coloured foal but we are very chuffed with her regardless. She certainly has mum's look about her!

Her registered name will be Essential Update as it has to begin with E and it also follows on from the stud's 2008 filly Devine Update.

Her stable name is Chewie as in 'may the fourth be with you'. She was named by my hubby to be who was so excited that there was a good chance the foal would be born on May 4th. He also won the foal sweepstake we had so it only seemed right he named her. I have considered Riddles, Riddler and Why but the thought of shouting Why across the field put me off!

We did the foal sweepstake to raise a bit of money for the National Foaling Bank as half the stake went to the winner and the other half to the charity. I will be sending a cheque for £23.50 to NFB in the not too distant future.

I was going to say that...."Quizzical" in it....but she already has a nice name as it is.

What a good idea for the NFB, i think i will do that next year for my mare. you never know when you may need them.

Thanks guys for all your kind words! This is our first time breeding and so far its been an amazing experience and a dream come true!

We have a potential change of name to 'Enigmatic Update' due to her little question mark on her forehead! Still open to debate as pen has not yet hit paper on the registration docs!
