The New Forest Hunt meet at Fold's Farm on 22nd December. Fold's Farm Cleveland Bay Stud are hosting the lawn meet and, are well known for their hospitality.

This particular hunt is always a children's hunt, but this year knowing that the CBHS were hoping to emulate our American supporters, they have extended a particular welcome to non-members who have pure or part bred Cleveland Bays.

The New Forest hunt in the lovely scenery of the New Forest National Park and as a bonus for first timers!! There are no jumps.

Please do support the day and especially if you have a pure or part bred Cleveland Bay, support Britain's oldest and rarest breed.

For more information please contact Sue Cutts, Fold's Farm 01425 653580

How many Forum members will be attending?

I understand that about five pure bred Cleveland Bays will go - we need more.

Happy Hunter, why don't you give Sue a ring and see if there is a horse available on loan?

I was invited, but we had enough trouble getting our newest purchase to France, the thought of a return trip just before Christmas is just too daunting!!

Shame it's so far away :( We have 2 part-bred that hunt regularly and would have been there like a shot of it had been do-able

Hello Clippy,

I have approached other hunts and asked for support on this forum. I don't know where you are but we certainly need to get our CB owners together. Perhaps it is something you could do with your local hunt later in the season?

I am sure our members would be more than happy to help you find other owners in your area. Please pm me if we can help.

We're in the North West near Manchester. There are a few part-breds that hunt with us often and I know lots of cleveland owners near me. I love spotting them and saying hello!

Two of my pure breds came from Heather Warburton at Whippletree Stud, close to Manchester Airport*, I know she hunts and does endurance. There is also a dealer in your area who is a great admirer of the CBxTB, I think she has one herself.

Why not try and organise something with your local hunt?

* When she was just backed I took the mare I bought from Heather out with my 33 year old on the leading rein. My husband was horrified to spot a low flying helicopter just above the road where we were riding!! This stupid pilot was practically flying alongside me. The mare did not turn a hair, must have been living at the end of the runway that 'proofed' her.

Rollin I know Heather well, she has supported our hunt for years and we use some of her land. I'm not surprised your horse from her didn't mind a low-flying helicopter!

We regularly see Pembridge Minstrel, my God, at 20 years old he looks like a 4 year old. He is a force to be reckoned with, he can really perform and what a stunning animal!

I was going to post a pic of Minstrel but found instead this interesting article. A lot about temperament, athletic ability and competition career.

The Cleveland Bay is a superb mate for a TB, their calm temperament (of course they trot down the Mall with 1 million people waving flags) makes for a superb Sport Horse and all Made in Britain!!

If you have followed the CB Debate in News, you will know I am one of those who advocate the continued breeding or Pure Bred Cleveland Bays. We will not produce sport horses of this caliber if we change the breed.

We now have five pure bred mares in France and a pure bred stallion.
