new forest sales...

I can't get the time off work else I would join you, trying to talk ourselves out of each and every on of them!!!
I have just looked throught the brochure and selected a few I would be very hapoy with - Not good!!!!

I haven't seen the catalogue yet, but was thinking of going- you know just for a look

I'd have to get train down as OH working, which should stop me from buying, but then again, it might not :o

I'm working so can't go either :( Probably a good thing though as I would want to buy more ponies.

But if you see this mare there http://www.nfed.co.uk/cgi-bin/class...play_db_button=on&db_id=74078&query=retrieval
Buy her for me ;)

See this is why I can't go esp if she's there I feel so sorry for her and want her :( I've shown my OH the ad and he's said "NO" I wouldn't pay that much for her though. She sounds just like the horrid one and I paid less for him with all his tack and rugs :p ;) :D :D

Damn you Cat lol! I've just looked at the online catalogue and seen a pony near me that will be there. He is such a lovely boy - I want him! Glad I've no money to spare.

Lot number 114 (and 115) belongs to a friend of mine. He's absolutely gorgeous if anybody is going to buy. 115 won loads and loads, but I've not seen him under saddle.

oh god, i even sent the catalogue to my OH at work and told him i wanted 114!!!

and welshruby i only live about 20mins drive from the sales, but MUST NOT GO! last time i went i spent mine and hubbys wedding present money on a horse without permission!! he went up the wall!!

Hugo (114) will be the bargain of the centuary to whoever gets him! If I didn't have Markie, I'd be going for him myself. He's a little green in the school but jumps like a stag and is a bombproff hack. Up to a fair amount of weight too, without being 'heavy' himself, therefore, OH could ride too...............................

my hubby is lucky (or unlucky, depends how u look at it) to be lighter than i am, damn him:mad:

i so wish i had the money for another as he sounds like such a super boy - hope he finds a nice home is all i can say :(

*goes off to try and placate OH*

How much?! I never understand people like this, why dont they drop the price to something more realistic & try & find a private home rather than send her through the sales where she will end with god knows who, no one is realistically going to pay that for her when you can get something which at the very least likes you for that money. Totally bonkers!

Also "Alternatively, she could be used for breeding as she would, without doubt, breed a good foal."
I strongly doubt this - a not friendly , mediocre, mare of unknown breeding who is certainly not TB x NF.
Not a breeding prospect in my book.

welshruby, whats more, i did this only about 5 days after we got married - i thought he was going straight to the divorce court when i told him, whoa it was like a hurricane. mind u i did get my own way, as eventually he came round to the idea!

agree about 'horrid holly' not being a breeding prospect, can't really think that its a forester x tb, as *generally* neither breed are coloured (obviously it is possible, and angrove rumbaba proves!) but surely its pretty unlikely?

they won't get what they're asking on NFED at the sales anyway, no way

Angrove rumbaba is a racehorse but is not a TB. I think he is 7/8ths TB.
The tobiano gene is not present in Thoroughbreds although you can get pure TBs with splash, sabino or overo.

This filly looks like a trotter cross.

I really like the sound of the palomino colt. Is anyone heading down from west mids. I wanted to go but couldn't get hold of the lorry I use as it was booked up :(
