I 'think' I've found a few ''rules'' regarding NF ponies. Min height is 12.2hh, max height is 14.2hh for stallions, slightly less for mares. Chestnuts, bays, browns, blacks, roans and greys allowed,
Then MINIMAL face and leg markings????
So, does that mean, that Penny, although will get 'whiter' with age is a dud? She has a neat blaze, and four white socks?
She is bred along the Farrier lines...

Thoughts please!!

Nice looking pony!
Did you buy her from the sales? Or was it from the breeder.

Private sale, lady had rescued the mare, who then had a foal. The mare was 5, thin, wormy and had been in a riding school, and the lady felt sorry for her (and also needed a companion). As she handed over £50, she was given the mares papers, and 'btw mare has been covered too' story. The Lady got the mare looking well, had the foal no problem and then advertised her locally in our local tack shop...... I was only there selling a saddle second hand, and pretty much came home with a weanling!! lol Impulse buy or what!!? lol

All sounds a bit odd, but not to worry... Farriers Rambler was (he died last year) one of the stallions who ran out on the forest, so not exactly the sort of covering you would expect. Then again, what do I know? I have a mare by F Rambler too, she is bay with no white whatsoever, and a to die for temperament.

Those markings look fine to me, if the white on the sock on that foreleg went above the back of the knee that would be another matter, but as pony is going grey, its not going to show anyway is it in a few years time?

RuthnMeg she is a lovely pony.

Colouring wise she is fine.

There is no lower limit for height just an upper limit of 14.2hh/148cm

White on limbs must not go higher the knee & hock joints

No white behind the head so she can have a lovely enormous blaze and still be fine

She has brown eyes

She's really lovely - she has great legs - my New Forest was like that too - the best legs I've seen on a pony - Glenda Spooner told me he had lovely limbs. Very proud.
