Hey guys

We've just had our 2 acre field at our new house ploughed. It was in such an awful state that it really was the only thing to do. It hadn't been used for approx. 8 years and was stubble before that so it had self seeded and had allsorts in it and was so rutted.

Anyway now it's looking lovely. The contractor has done all the necessaries including spreading the grass seed. He said all we need now is a good dump of rain.

I'm a bit worried as there's no rain forcast. Will the seed be ok??

Yes, it will be fine, same way that it was in the bag.

It will manage to get some moisture out of the soul and should start germinating.

Always nice when you see your new grass coming through for the first time!

If you want some good advice then when the grass starts growing get a contractor in to cut and collect it about 2 to 3 times during the growing season as this will get the grass to thicken up. Also keep a record of the type of grass/manufacturer that was used so that if you need to add any more you know what has been used.
