New hat after falling off?

Last week i fell off quite badly and got bad concussion and broke my collar bone

We have checked for cracks in my hat (its a skull cap, and probably about 5 years old

) and we have pushed it in too see if there are any hidden cracks, but nothing. Do you think its worth getting a new hat? Opinions?

Yes definately - I had a fall 6 weeks ago - and I got concussion - didnt have to think twice about replacing the hat.

yes definately get a new hat, years ago I fell on my head and hat seemed fine but for interest a radiographer friend x-rayed it (hat not head!) and there was a huge crack!

Yep, def change it. I landed on my head while jumping and changed mine straight away

Yes definitely, I change mine if I drop them on the floor even. Makes me very careful with them! Only got one head, after all ...

i was told hats should be changed every 4-5 years anyway whether they had had a knock or not.

I'd Definately buy a new one and get it properly fitted- your head is priceless after all!- Damage can be done to the insides of a hat and you can't even tell from the outside- I had terrible concussion about 10 years or so ago- my hat was fine on the outside, but we took the hat apart out of curiosity more than anything and the inner was totally split on the side of where my head had hit the concrete so hard- if I hadn't been wearing it I wouldn't be writing this now!!.

you can contact the maker of the hat, most will let you send it to them and they will carry out full tests on it to see if its internally damaged
