I was thinking of buying one of thesehttps://techalogic.co.uk/product/dc-1-dual-lens-helmet-camera/
Has anyone got one and is it any good. Or, any other dual lens camera you recommend?
Summer is coming along with the tourist traffic.

It's probably the best dual lens camera in terms of imagery and ease of use. I have had mine for about 18 months. I'm thinking of changing it for the new one that goes on the front of the hat and is smaller and lighter. You can buy two and have one on the back as well, but I wouldn't bother. I'm fairly convinced (and most of the footage you see posted proves it) that riders don't look behind or around themselves enough anyway!

I don't like the weight of the dc1 on the side of the hat, and I don't like the size of it and the protrusion, which would make falling off even more dangerous than it already would be.

I have one and would feel naked without it! Cars travel too fast on our lane so I like the thought that I can report the idiots now although I've only reported one so far. I like the forward and back view because we are having increasing problems with dogs coming up to the horses and I feel that if everything is recorded we have more chance of finding the identity of the owners should the incident escalate.

I don't really notice the weight of the camera anymore.

The tech support is excellent as well.

I was going to ask about these too!

How easy is it to know whether it's on or off? Like for hunting when you only want to switch it on when you're actually moving and off again when you stop. And then you can't remember if you switched on or off last ... Does the remote have separate buttons for on and off or is it like mine where it's the same button, and kind of defeats the object?

It's one button at the front of the camera which you press, it makes a buzzing sound, and a different buzz when you switch it off.

Yeah the remote has stop buttons, it records in 15 minute intervals. Really easy

I've just got the Techalogic hc-1.
Raining today so it will have to wait a day or two to use it on a hack.
Let us know what you think of it!
I have the techalogic dual camera but I don't use it as I find it too bulky/heavy and sticks out too much for my liking. I've no doubt if I come off it'll get obliterated.

I've watched a YouTube review and still not convinced I would be able to operate it 🙈 It looks like the best way to tell if it's on or off is from the vibrate when you press the button on the camera. I'm not sure I'd be able to tell the difference through my gloves on a windy cold hunting field. I'd be really grateful if you would do a review! For context I want to be able to quickly turn it on when we set off on a good line and turn it off again afterwards. I can never remember if I've turned it off, so next time we set off I don't know whether I need to turn it on or not. The review I watched mentioned another camera that had a light on the remote that lit up when the camera was on - that's the sort of thing I need!

The dc1 comes with a remote but the easiest way to tell is to open your roadcam app and if it is recording it is on.
Alternatively you can just disconnect the wifi for the helmet that will also stop the recording 😂

Haha thanks. It's not really practical on a hunting field though when you get seconds' notice and your phone is probably buried deep in a pocket within all your layers and you have gloves on. (Another gripe is not being able to find thermal waterproof breeches with a phone pocket in a beige colour!)

The vibration patterns for on and off are very different, so you would quickly learn the difference - but I just turn mine on and then put my hat on, it will last for a good 2 hours on a normal charge, or you can buy portable chargeable battery packs for longer rides.

Thanks, that's good to know. The problem with leaving the camera on, I have discovered, is that I don't have the time or the willpower to watch it all back 🥱 Having different vibration patterns sounds very promising though.

I have a Techalogic DC-1 which films from front and rear at the same time and switch it on when I set off and leave it on until I get back several hours later. I believe it has about 3 hours recording time. If you order on their web site www.techalogic.co.uk and use the discount code PWAS1 you will get a 7% discount! I wear mine in the rain without any issues.

That's fair, it is pretty tedious if you're trying to find a specific moment!
