Hi all
I am getting a new horse I hope! I already have a 15'3 cob who I have owned for 10 years and done all riding club ODEs and SJ with. So I sort of know what I am doing! But I want a new challange so am getting a 17h Irish Sports Horse who is owned by a show jumping couple who I know. He his not careful enough at the big heights (bigger than I will ever want to jump). He has a lovely nature..well I hope so. My instinct tells me he's a nice horse and the owners want him to go and be someone's pet as he is so lovely. He is 6 and has been jumping 1m20 and lovely flatwork..but that's with his pro owners and not me!
So, basically I want some tips from you all from how to deal with a new horse and a sort or youngster...anything valuable that you would like to pass on? Routinue is very important in my mind and he will have a strict one as on full livery in the week (no riding) and DIY at the weekend so I will keep to the weekly routine.
Thanks
