My lovely horse arrived today. He hadn't been in a box for 4 years and just loaded without a thought.

And at my end, he ate a bit, got turned out with a shetland. He struck out his lovely graceful neck to greet her and she squealed and spun away, and then he just settled down to grazing like he'd been there all his life.

I am going to ride him tomorrow with the YO. So looking forward to it - can't believe he is mine.

Want to continue having lessons - there is a school at the yard, and wondered if anyone knew any RI around Frome, Warminster, Westbury area - not too expensive - don't want anyone too impressive - just want to keep progressing and not get into any bad habits.

Congratulations on your new arrival - sounds really lovely . Have a great time together.

Go to the BHS site for details of Riding Centres in your area - its a bit of a struggle to find them on their site - very messy but be patient and you'll find the page.

Also ask or put up a notice in your local saddlery stores they generally know the instructors that are in the area.

Tom Tanner comes to my yard and loads of people use him, I watched a lesson last week and was really impressed. Think he's going to be teaching me on my youngster soon.

Polly Davies is also good as is Jos Maude.

Also heard good things about Roz Snook who's also local.

Julie Nunn is also really good. PM me if you'd like her number. She's based near Bridgwater but travels around a fair bit. She's pretty reasonable too!
