New Horse Changing routine advise please?

Morning All

I pick up my new horse on Saturday. He is currently out at night and brought in for a few hours in the morning and then turned out again.

His new routine with me is going to be in at night and out during the day, brought in late afternoon, worked and then bedded down for the night.

Any advise on how to make this change as positive as possible? It has to be done and cant be done gradually so although its a bit 'tough if he doesnt like it' I would dearly love to make it as happy as possible

If he is usually happy to be stabled part time and others are in overnight I see no problem with just doing as you plan to, I picked one up yesterday that lived out 24/7 he settled in a stable last night and will go out after a little work this morning and come back in tonight. I will put him out at night but like a few days to let them get used to being in a new yard and find the right place/ group to put them with, they soon settle once they know the routine, especially if the others are on the same one.

Thanks, yes its a DIY Livery yard so everyone pretty much has the same routine. I will add a lick and a treat ball to help keep him occupied and maybe a hanging medley of veg
