The mare i was interested in passed the vetting yesterday and now we have her home!! She is 16.1 (although i think she's bigger) WB mare, 6 yr old, well bred with some lovely jumping lines... my little project for the winter. Her passported name is "Volien" but as yet she doesnt have a stable name. A couple of suggestions have been: 'Oli' (as its in her name) "Vi" or something completely unrelated like "Lilly"... im gravitating towards Oli, but my OH says i can't name her that because 'its a boys name'

So any suggestions welcome.

I've no problems with boys names for girls. Tell OH it's unisex like Lesley or Lindsey! Another example - Mel shortened from Melanie, nobody queries that one. Both my cats are girls and they both have boys names (Jasper and Murphy) just tell him it's the 'in' thing to do!
