I have just bought a new horse from Germany and need to bring him home, hopefully before Christmas.

Diamond is a big baby at 3 1/2 and although he has been boxed before when he did his foal test and when my friend bought him and his full sister he hasn't been on a box for 2 years.

Can anyone recommend a good company where he will travel with other horses and not be on his own? He is at present totally unspoilt with a lovely temperament and I don't want the journey to scare him.

many thanks

All 3 very good for international & European transport to & from UK for all types of horses inc Olympic stars, all do shared loads, making costs lower (tho can do sole transport but you need a very big cheque for that) :)

Thanks for such a quick answer. Will look at the 3 and get quotes. Unfortunately I don't have the big cheque required for sole transport so he may have to wait a few weeks. Not sure I can wait that long though, first horse for many years and soooo excited. It was hard saying goodbye to him this morning.

John Parker are very good! Most of the big transport companies do a Europe run every week so you might be surprised!

Am waiting for the quotes to come back but it's nice to know he will be well looked after whichever company I choose.

I will certainly post photos but to give you an idea he is by the stallion Der Feine Lord out a mare called Nautica, chocolate brown/black and 152 cms. He has his fathers lovely head, is compact and has the most stunning canter. He has been broken and turned away but I rode him several times in the outdoor school in Germany and took him out for his first very short hack. On Friday evening he went in the indoor school and free jumped over a few poles about 6 inches high and cleared them at about 3ft so I know he can jump.

Thanks once again for the recommendations.

Just a quick update. On everyone's recommendations I chose Parkers to bring Diamond home. The German vet is signing the first papers today and will inspect him on Tuesday and with any luck he will be collected on Wednesday.

Parker's have been brilliant, the quote was excellent, far less than I thought it would be and they have patiently talked me through the whole thing.

Hopefully I will have him by the weekend.

Thanks again for the help

Quick update. Diamond arrived last week and has settled in well. He was a bit fizzy for a few days as he has always lived in a family herd and this is the first time he has been on his own but he coped well, unlike me who has been a nervous wreck.

He is turned out during the day and stabled at night but rugless as he has a very fluffy coat and has gone from being immaculate to very muddy.

Parker's were brilliant, the driver who collected him in Germany was very patient as were the driver and groom who dropped him off the following day.

Would like to upload pictures but can't work out how to do it.
