As the title says really. I want to start looking but don't know when is the best time. Do people sell their unbroken youngsters (2-3 yrs) cheaper now so they don't have the expense of keeping them over the winter, or would I be better off looking in the spring so I don't have to keep over winter. My livery would cost 25 pounds per week.
Any thoughts guys?

Why don't you just have a look around and see if anything catches your eye? I have just got a new horse, and although there is the extra costs of winter, I just didn't see the point of waiting.

You might not see anything you like now...but always worth a look

hi, I've just bought a 4 year old. I reckon now is the best time to buy a young/new horse. Yeah the winter can be cold and wet but its the perfect time to bring on a youngster and not be tempted to rush out to shows. By the time spring comes around you'll know each other and be ready to compete. Plus it can take time to find the right horse and if you don't start looking til the spring you may not have one til the summer. Good luck and happy horse shopping!
