Emil arrived 2 weeks ago. Settled in so well it was amazing. I rode him a couple of times in my old saddle and although he was really really good I wasn't happy with the saddle fit so had Barnsby's come out

Well as normal with most saddle fitters, we didn't use a saddle cloth. Emil took offence to this and dumped me big style TWICE. So I was loaned a saddle to try and see what had caused the problem. Once I realised that it was just not having a saddle cloth he hasn't put a foot wrong since. Lesson learnt but I still have a very sore back as a reminder. Shame as it is seriously affecting my riding atm. he also lost a shoe at the same time so that held things up until Monday. So I have ridden him 3 times since then all in different schools and he has been a saint. Sometimes a little speedy but today was a beach donkey

He is a really sweet horse, already comes to call and loves cuddles.

He is not really very fit and Schooling wise we really have to work on bending as he hates it. was used to being in a very large school so a normal size one can be a bit hard on him, so looking forward to working on it

:D I haven't hacked him properly since I got him home as only just got him shod (lost a shoe) and still sorting saddles, have one on loan atm. However where I have taken him down the track he was a star. so not spooky and nice and chilled. He hacked out lovely on his own when I tried him.

I think he may liven up a bit when he is fitter and finds out what life is about, but don't mind if he doesn't.

he is bred by Dag Albert's family in Sweden. I got him off Dag :D They have done a really lovely job with him. his manners are perfect and while still a little green, what they have done has been done really well :D
 
He looks lovely i've had my new boy for 4 weeks now and had a similar experience when saddle fitter came out and ended up flying round the school think he also took offence to not having a pad on but hes only just 4 and hasn't tried it since!

It funny isn't it how once you ask around you realise it isn't as rare as you thought :D
 
Aww he's lovely! Shame about him chucking you off but it's all part of the bonding process. Mine dumped me in front of the saddler... Very embarrassing but I really should of lunged him first :p

Going to do unafil DR SJ probably some showing too. Then maybe next year some XC :D

ha ha yeah you should have lunged and I should have put a saddle cloth on :D

Can't believe I only had him a week and came off twice tho lol I never came off Micah at all :rolleyes:
