Sorry haven't had time to do pictures yet but quickly...

Picked up new horse last Friday! He's a 16.1hh grey (nooo not a grey!) Westphalian gelding, nearly 5. We bought him off Garry Williams from Essex (with the gorgeous Showmaker!) Garry and his partner Verity were really fab, sorted everything out very quickly and even got a heart specialist to check the horse out as we were concerned about his heart murmur. Luckily everything is fine with it. I would highly recomend Garry if you're looking for a nice young dressage horse. Really honest and down to earth.

The new boys is called Risebue, he was imported from Germany last November. He has settled in really quickly considering everything... the snow, shows going on at the yard, his next door neighbour rearing up in the stable from time to time, me accidentally setting off the stable block alarm yesterday... He is so chilled out yet forwards going to ride. He has had very nice comments from everyone, including from the Olympic rider at our yard who said he had good paces and a great temperament. Chuffed about that as I didn't take anyone to see him before buying!

Will post pictures when I mange to drag myself away from the yard!

Congratulations!

I actually bought a youngster from there late last year - and again found it a very positive experience and would highly recommend the yard.

I think I tried your boy (he'd only been there a few weeks) and thought he was lovely - but fell in love with another (!) who I eventually bought. He has turned out great and been exactly as described.

So enjoy and do post some pics of your new chap. What are you going to call him?

Thanks for the reply cp1, do you have any pictures on the forum of yours? Would love to see him! What have you done with him so far?

I tried out 3 at Garrys (not to mention one at Andrew Gould's which was sold very quickly and a few other private-not-so-good-ones). The others were not exactly what I was looking for, although all very nice horses. I went up there when the weather was awful last month, rode the grey in the hail and wind and he didn't bat an eyelid. He has been no trouble at all, as Garry said, very straightforwards.

Hehe I am not even sure how to pronounce his name! They have been pronouncing it Reece-bue and Verity has been calling him Reece, whilst Garry called him "The Grey One"!!

By the way was looking at some old posts... did you find a saddle in the end? I have just got a Passier for my boy and so far it seems ok, doesn't move at all and the cut suits him, although not sure what will happen when he fills out a bit

I'm from germany and my english is ... I try my best. I'm very happy to read and hear such from Risebue! Oh, it was really very difficult for german people to pronounce the boy's name correctly. I broad this horse and I gave him this name from a little village in northern germany. In german the pronounciation is like the written word, but it is not important. Risebue was stallion until the age of 3. He is very self-confident. If it's possible I try to attach a photo as a 1 year old horse and from the mother. I have two broadmares and Risebue was the first horse, that I sold, better I have to sell due to new foals. I hope you have good luck with him.
