Yes, I now have 6 horses… Finn the superstar ISH has come down hard with PSSM so I have bought a project. Unbacked 4 yo, he’s just been left in a field and looking in need of love. Slightly ugly duckling atm but I am hoping he will blossom. First stop feet and teeth…

He is supposed to be TB but no recorded breeding and I suspect a bit of Heinz 57 which I actually think is a good thing. I think he’s 15.2 ish, certainly no bigger. Might put a stick on him when he’s less alarmed. I am 5 ft 1, so smaller and lighter horses are easier. He has done no work at all, ever, so I am hoping he will change shape and develop a bit more ‘look at me’.

Aside from the white, he's absolutely identical to my horse in a lifetime!
He was out of a Connemara buckskin, TB sire. Made 16h.
Nothing useful to add really, other than I'd have snapped yours up in a heartbeat.
Have fun!

Background is that his owner was vaguely thinking about racing him (not sure what sort), he’s too big for pony racing, breeding unclear so not eligible to race as a TB as can’t prove he is one, person has lots of TB young stock and he got left in the field as he didn’t really have a job.

This morning, he seems very quiet and friendly, not entirely sure what to do with bucket food, fine to do feet and I let them in the fields today as they’re drier (heavy clay, hence large area of hard standing). Massive hoon about and I dread to see the state of the fields and now they’re all grazing.

I leave the stables open all the time with hay nets in each and this morning three of them were squished into one stable. They had 6 to choose from…

Does anyone know anything about grass warts? I googled yesterday and it seems that I shouldn’t be alarmed…or should I…?

Wishing you many years of fun and happiness with him. You deserve it after all your bad luck. He looks very sweet.
