I was told last week that new legislation was being introduced next year regarding conditions for horses whilst traveling.

Things such as, if there are enough windows / ventilation, head height for horses and a ban on the roof panels that let light in.

These new laws would apply to private horse owners and big fines for al the horse boxes which had not been modified to comply.

Is is just scare mongering?

Does anyone know anything about this?

The panel which lets light through being banned would make sense as they aren't very solid in case of an accident etc and ventilation seems fair enough but can't say i've seen any lorries/trailers which wouldn't be suitable for a horse...unless its not designed for a horse in the first place! x

As long as your trailer/lorry is ok, i wouldnt worry x

I took my box to a horsebox manufacturer for a qoute on an unrelated issue, so i suppose he could have been trying to drum up more business, but he seemed a nice guy, he may know about something brewing in the pipeline.
