Right, so I am determined to do a full, proper season, out at least once a week. Therefore I am going to treat myself to a decent wool jacket to keep out the cold. I really fancy a very dark green wool (pretty sure it wouldn't be toooo frowned on) and obv a waistcoat to go with - any ideas where to go for this?

I have a black Mears Pytchley wool hunting jacket, and I absolutely love it! It keeps you lovely and warm on those cold hunting days, I'm not sure whether they do it in dark green though. I also have a really nice red waistcoat from Mears.

Green? Apart from Harrier hunt staff or button holders etc, it should really be black or navy. Although I,m sure you'd look very nice in a green coat...

I know, and usually I am an absoute stalwart when it comes to regulation, but I want a really dark, deep green, almost indiscernible from black - I know I will end up with black tho LOL!

Yeah thought I would have a good look around Blenheim and see what I can come up with - there isn't really anywhere around here that does what I am after, unless I just do not know of the existance of the place LOL! Are you coming to Blenheim?

Don't know if they till do them, I suspect they do, but Harrods have a fab range. When I started on Bertha my mum gave me all of her waistcoats and a really fab thick black hunting jacket from there which is very nice and snug for the cold days. Would really go with black though.

I also have an Alexander James Jacket- Its fab and the price was fair AND it has a goretex type lining so I never got wet even after 4 hours in pouring rain!

Keep out the cold? I wear a thin Pikeur jacket because I get so hot from galloping and wrestling with Ernie...very rarely too cold - and we're in Wales!

Re. coat, good luck..we want pics!

Hope you get out once a week Weezy, just had our cubbing list out so after Wed (back lady is out to Ernie) from Saturday on it should be Tally ho for us! Ahhh early mornings and stubble fields..how I miss the stubble fields!

My Pikeurs are all too SJ to hunt in, I would feel embarrassed  And the jacket that has always been my old faithful is just too shoddy now. I hunt on weekdays so there is quite a bit of standing about, and we are not known for being real thrusters - add to that the fact that I do feel the cold and I want something a little more substantial and smart :D

Not had my cubbing list yet - horse is fit as a fiddle and ready to go tho, was out jumping the bales today and had a fab time!

Yep she has been before and when I went to view her I spoke to the guy that had taken her out, who said she was the most mannerly horse he had ever hunted and that she absolutely shone, so I am very much looking forward to the season!!! I know on fun rides she is absolutely blinding, follows the lead, doesn't pull, stops with everyone else, jumps anything, so fingers Xed we will have a ball.

Going to look at coats at Blenheim and if I don't see what I am after there I will order from Alexander James at HOYS.
