Hi Guys,

I currently work in an accounts department but am really bored of it now I just sort of fell into after bumming about at college for 2 years and I am really wanting to get back into the horsey world! I have no qualifications but heaps of experince from the age of 13 -24 which I am now so 11 yrs! I would move anywhere as Im not really keen on Manchester as it is not green enough for me! I have my own horse which I would like to take with me! Am I living in dream land or is this something I could find easy? I have been looking but they all want qualifications! Am I going to have to get them?

Thanks

Liz

Might be worth looking at working pupil positions in the H&H jobs section? not much money but a good way to get in and get your BHS exams.

If you interested in dressage there are Dressage Apprenticeships. Have a look on the BD website to find out more. www.britishdressage.co.uk
Other alternatives would be to be a working pupil to do your BHS exams or even to be a fulltime equine student.
The racing industry also has apprenticeships and courses available.

Funnily enough I have just written a report for my equine studies course on the basis of employment in the horse industy! (didn't get a very good mark though.. lol)

I did a small table and used the information from www.yardandgroom.co.uk for my research and out of the 50 jobs for competition grooms, about ONE wanted qualifications.

Please have a look on that site, there is literally about 350 jobs in the uk working as a groom for various types of yard, alot will offer to take you and your horse as part of the package and alot of them (bar teaching jobs) wants qualifications so I think you will definitely find something.
