Hi everyone, Just looking for a bit of advice. I have had my lovely golden lab puppy for 1 week . He has been wormed and had his first jags. When I took him to the vet last week the vet said he was fat. Since then he looks to me like he is getting skinny. I am feeding him Chudley puppy on the advice of the breeder He is getting 4 meals a day and lots of garden exercise. He seems happy and playful but is always looking in his bowl for food. I dont give him many treats and use his dog food when trying to train him. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

He is a labrador :)- will always check for more food as they are a life support for a stomach!!;):D - he will also look like he is losing wieght as he grows - they go through phases of looking short and chubby then they grow upwards and look thinner.:)

If you are in any doubt go to the vet.

Agree with this. Amber went through a really scrawny stage. As long as the vet is happy, then I'm sure your pup will be fine. Amber had her 1 year jabs last week and the vet said that she was perfect (and that she had gorgeous eyes!), but to others she probably looks a bit poor and ribby. Like horses, a slightly underweight dog is better than an overweight dog!

Do u have any piccies of him?
If he is bright, active and eating what he is given I would not worry, esp if the vet commented on his weight jsut a week ago.
