New Lad - Broken Leg Update....

He's out in the field

After nearly three months box rest he is out

We saw the x-rays - the crack was one millimetre off going all the way through . If we had known that at the time....

Considering that he's an ex-racehorse, he's definately got a mind of his own, and he's been on box rest for so long (he did his jaw thing two months before he broke his leg), he has done amazingly well . Friend and her OH have done so well looking after him through thick and thin.

Does he have a plan for coming back into work or is just a waiting game?

Its amazing how they cope, isn't it? My lad (also ex-racer) had 3 months on box rest last year and was an absolute star throughout - although he did need an entire tube of sedalin when he finally went out

It's just a waiting game for now... It was such a bad break, and he cut an artery and damanged the muscle, that it could still go at any time. He couldn't be cross-tied as he'd have flipped . He was lying down, bouncing around his stable, and generally not seeming to understand that he had a broken leg!!

He's out with a dose of Sedalin and his girlfriend for two weeks

Nope, wouldn't want to have to do that journey ever again. But, he's doing okay now, so happy
