Recently found out that if you are towing a trailer with a van, and if the combined weight of the van and the trailer exceeds 3.5 ton then towing vehicle requires a tacho graph, so my OH has informed me.
.....that came from VOSA a ministery testing station.

Surely that only applies if you are towing a trailer as part of your business, as VOSA are concerned with commercial vehicles?

Vosa are not just concerned with commercial vehicles, they can pull anyone over to be weighed at any roadside weighbridge things. My OH sand I were towing the Rally car back form the Isle of Mull and we got pulled over and weighed, we are not a business so im guessing they can do it to anyone.

Sorry I don't know the exact details, I'll try and find out though, just what the OH wittered in my ear last night while I was online but he said not many people know about it so I thought I'd mention it on H&H, did not mean to panic anyone. He's mechanic and he gets to know about stuff like that but sometimes he does get things wrong....bless him

ditto above, read the vosa site first!!

IT IS ONLY THOSE WORKING AS GROOMS BEING PAID, OR OTHER PEOPLE WHO TRANSPORT HORSES FOR HIRE OR REWARD.

THESE RULES DO NOT APPLY TO ANYONE WHO IS DOING A LOCAL SHOW FOR £5 PRIZE MONEY!!!
