I'm moving to Nottingham shortly and will be looking for a small friendly livery yard for my horse.
On my wish list is individual all year turnout, friendly and helpful people, an arena and lots of hacking, without too many roads. I'm hoping for DIY with help on days I can't get.
Has anyone any suggestions for my perfect place??
Am moving to the West Bridgford/ Gamston area of Nottingham

have replyed to you in SB - but do not go to west bridgford riding school.

try bassingfield or pm for more info or suggestions

Hi - went to see West Bridgford, they were just cutting and baling their ragwort - the bale was left in the field. For an approved livery it was awful, would hate to see the ones they turn down

I am in the West Bridgford area too. I looked long and hard for perfect yard with all the things you want. Unfortunately not many yards around with all year turnout. Our yard has individual paddocks, and you can turnout 24/7 all year round, we have a school, we can hack around the owners fields, but unfortunately you have to cross main road/sneak down alleyway to get to bridlepaths. Also its completely DIY, no help from yard owner. If you want details PM me, otherwise let me know if you find somewhere, as I will be moving too! :-)

oh and another definately not wb equestrian, its awful - however they do have nice hacking, which is a shame!

The hacking at west bridgford gets boring very quickly - its not that great and not even real countryside in my opinion which is what hackings about.

hatters where are you at?

PP37 - I can let you know quite a few decent ones but my mate has just moved to bassingfield and likes it alot. depends how far you want to travel.

and if you ever need a hand let me know - am horseless at the moment.

Have thought about Bassingfield, but it doesn't seem much hacking apart from up and down the canal. Seen one at Ratcliffe (Oakfield?) do you know anything about it? Wouldn't really want to be further away than that though, but may have to travel if it benefits the horse.

ratcliffe is quite far away - there is more around ruddington area - elms farm is very very good but quite expesive or theres another just a bit further down form elms farm - can find the name out for you

or vale view at Hose which from gamston is about ten minutes but still nearer than ratcliffe.

I dont think vale view has a website but can give you details or they are on facebook

True, I guess once you have ridden down the Trent you have done it all. I would love decent hacking.

I'm at normanton, keyworth way. Not too far from WB.
