It’s been open for a few years now - a friend and I were wondering if we could book the indoor then turn up with scruffy muddy horses and see the looks on the owners’ faces 😂. I think it might be linked to Soho Farmhouse in some way?

I notice their FB page hasn’t been updated since 2020…

Please do! Ah yea maybe so, although I think Soho have horses on site but maybe that’s for others to ride rather than livery.
I live close and have never heard of this place by word of mouth.

They broadcast the BD National Convention from there during Covid lockdown, and I must admit the arena and facilities looked really amazing. I think at the time there were some international dressage riders based at the yard, and UK professional riders as well when I looked it up. It does look very Soho Farmhouse doesn't it. 🐴

I don't think people like me, and my horses would be welcome at a place like this. I can imagine them all sitting in the club house gossiping about me 😂
"Do you think she have ever even brushed her hair before''
''Have you seen the way she bounces around on those hairy filthy animals''
Not sure I would want to be welcome.

I’m not miles away and same…very odd. Could you do a drive by and see if it really exists?!

It does exist! I briefly visited and worked on it before construction was complete!

Very interesting backstory, not sure how much I’m allowed to share, but the principle was that it was to be a members club / lifestyle club along with the horses. All very grandiose.

It’s a very discreet entrance way, with all the equestrian facilities at the back so wouldn’t be obvious from the road unless you knew about it.

I’ve seen photos of a similar yard where full livery is considerably more than that. It’s aimed at footballers wives and wealthy owners who want to have a horse, but don’t want to get dirty in the process. I bet it doesn’t even smell of horse, which would be awful.

Whenever I see really smart indoor yards I often think they are designed for people more than the horses but I can see that there could be a market for it even at that rate if the full livery includes riding and someone could come down from the city to ride their horse of the weekend, so rather like belonging to a posh golf club or similar. Sadly I too couldn't rock the blonde pony tail either so it has counted me out.

It's designed to fleece the wealthy 'dressage' ladies of a certain age. The whole place looks totally anal.

Not just sour grapes, I honestly wouldn't want to be there even if I won the Euro Millions. No mention of winter turnout, no mention of hacking, and would you really want to use a school with a glass cage full of Hurray Henrys sitting with their G&Ts barking to each other about you?
Telling that they have vacancies.
Edited - Tommy says he fancies the hot water wash & solarium.

Haha I know....I can't think of anything worse. It genuinely sounds awful doesn't it. If I had 2K a month I wouldn't spend it on that.

Heck, if I had that much money I'd buy my own land and install a lovely, practically grass-free track...

For that money they could have full livery (and it is proper full livery) at the Catherston stud and weekly lessons with Jennie herself and still have £600 a month change left.

A touch harsh perhaps, but I don't think this place is aimed at people looking for quality instruction and good value for money.

Why would you need those things when you have a bar and a pool table*

*sarcasm

Useful as a creche for the indulgent non-horsey partner though.
Bet they have a "boots-off" and "shower first" policy before entry into it though, with those little blue plastic thingies they have in show homes to slip over their feet before they go in to peruse the vintage Louis Vuitton luggage inside.

I'd guess it's aimed at hedge fund managers who have a weekend cottage in Stow and miss the London club. The horses are there as a fashion accessory.
Still seem to have misjudged the market though.

I think Spencer Wilton and Darren Hicks are based there (?)
It mentioned them moving in on the FB page.

I'm not sure why I've dived down this internet rabbit hole today (it is a Friday I suppose and my brain stops working by about this point in the week :p) but here's some background on the founder - it mentions her ambition to open the Club at the bottom. I've no issue with it personally, I'm sure the horses are well cared for and I'm extremely envious of the facilities, though I'd always want more than individual turnout. I'd be put off by the lack of mention of horse care on the website but I'd certainly go and take a look at the place if I had that sort of budget.

I can't quite believe I'm sharing a Daily Fail article 🤣 but: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...n-empire-centre-bizarre-wife-swap-tangle.html
