Hello!
I've decided to join the Horse & Hound online forums as no matter what the horse related question, the answer always appears to have come from here!
Now I've turned 30 this year, the gap year & university summer's spent working with horse's feels a lifetime ago! Most of my bravery has vanished alongside my youth and these days I'm a fully paid up member of the 'adult on a pony' club. I own a 14.2hh pony for just over 7 years and he's 'cheeky' in the way that only a poney can be. He's now 13, which terrifies me as it's a constant reminder how quickly time flies by ... in my head, he should still be 6 year old. On reflection though, I think the next door farmer thinks he is a youngster as he always waves & cheerily calls out 'youngsters, eh?' whilst I'm desperately trying to convince my pony that he doesn't need to plot world domination as we leave the yard
World domination aside, we dabble in a little bit of everything. Pony loves hacking and jumping. Over the years, he's learnt to tolerate a dressage test on the proviso he will always look surprised, nay horrified, to suddenly notice the dressage markers around the arena halfway through his test. If it's a really good test, we'll add a minimum of one freestyle movement of his own in. Usually when there are double marks at stake, naturally.
Now I've joined, it should be fun to 'meet' other people to talk horses with
Thanks for reading.
