Lovely Northamptonshire again!
Visit site
as i haven't bought a turnout rug from either of them for donkey's years, but they seem to be the best prices at the mo for what i want, can anyone pls advise whether 1 is much better than the other, etc.
thankyou.
these ones:

not fussy about colour, just want no-neck mw that won't rub, turn or leak! usually a devotee of FALs and Rambos but don't want to spend that much ideally...
thankyou.

I bought 2 MW weatherbeetas when I first bought B over 4 years ago. They fit perfectly and he has lived in them all winter, every winter since I bought them (I don't do stable rugs). He usually does half the winter in one then I swap them when one gets really disgusting!

One is still in super condition and has just come back from wash/reproof looking like new, the other has just bitten the dust as he destroyed it on barbed wire in the snow.

For the money they are great - no comparison with FAL of course (I've just bought him a fal in the sales to replace the dead WB) but still v hard wearing.

I do prefer the tail flaps on the WB (with the gussets) to the ones on the FAL though.....

I have one a Masta - WB won't go near H - to small in neck shoulder and rub him.

You're welcome to try mine on if you like - it's a 6ft6

Best and chepeast rug I ever bought for him was a shires- worn best of the lot

If I had to choose between WB and Masta, I would go for WB every time. IME Mastas don't fit well and leak.

If you want a cheap rug to rival Fal and Rambo, go for PE, their nylon rugs fit well, don't rub and don't leak.

It depends on type of horse really. I find the Masta's are deeper, and threading the surcingles through the rug keeps more of the belly covered, however I also think they are quite boxy.

I like WB's generally but I dont find them especially deep.

Have you looked at the Premier Equine ones? They are much more hard wearing, and think there are medium weights in the sale (usually come with neck covers as well even though you said you didnt want one).

Otherwise www.cybercheckout.co.uk has medium weight Amigo 1200Ds for £39.99 with free postage.

I think I would choose an Amigo over either but I have a couple of MW Weatherbeetas which do the job well. Not a fan of Masta rugs (except their coolers) as I find them bulky & not a great shape.

I got a MW weatherbeeta high neck for George when i first got him and it fits him a treat (6'6 chunky) and is still going strong 3 yrs on, and the beginning of this winter I bought a HW weatherbeeta with detachable neck that he has lived in all winter, seems comfy no rubs - v. pleased with it.

FWIW I agree with the othrs who recommend getting an Amigo from Cybercheckout, I'd get one myself if I hadn't bought a PE Trio in the sales.

Also you can get nectar points from Cybercheckout. Go to the nectar website and log in, then click through to the Cybercheckout site, 2 points per £.

Mole Valley are selling FAL M/Ws cheaply just now; just got a flyer in the post

Between WB and M I've pick WB every time. I've never found Masta's a good fit. Between WB and Amigo I'd pick Amigo.

Happy shopping
