Have any of the experts here had a look at this?

What do you think? I was quite excited until I saw the ingredient list....

I currently use the NAF General Purpose Supplement in summer, switching to the Haylage Balancer in winter... would be interested to hear what the experts think of the new balancer as an alternative. Looks equal in terms of cost to feed.

Analysis: http://www.naf-equine.eu/uk/products/productDetail.jsp?detail_id=optimum

It's only got 1.61mg/kg of selenium in it.

Their suggested feeding rate of 100g balancer for a 500kg horse would mean the animal would only be receiving 0.161mg selenium each day.

NRC's recommended minimum daily ration of selenium is 1mg per 500kg horse. My hay/grass provides only 0.4mg/day, so this balancer would not address my deficiency to any significant degree. About 70% of the UK is reckoned to be deficient in selenium, so there would be plenty others for whom lack of selenium would still be a problem.

Given that, I wouldn't bother looking at any of the other ingredients...
