New one on me

Please god no. I hope it's not. The chances of the poor thing ever drawing breath without a ventilator must be slight.

someone in my village proudly told me they had got a shepador.......why not say a crossbreed of german shepherd and labrador,,,,some of these new fangled names astound me. im sure its so that they can ask ridiculous amounts of money for them. i have a border collie cross labrador who cost me £150....perhaps she should have been called a colliedor and therefore cost £400 or £500? mind you i wouldnt have even looked if she had a silly name...

at least a shepador can breathe!

If I were a breeder of any type of pedigree dog right now, I'd be holding my head in my hands and tearing my hear out in clumps. This is not the work of a responsible breeder, but somebody seeing their bitch as a way of making money by shoving it to whatever entire is in the area, just so long as they can market the results with a 'designer' name and sell it to somebody daft enough to pay for it. :(

every day a new 'designer crossbreed' appears.... but not for any benefit- at least labradoodles and cockapoos were bread for people with allergies so they could still have a dog! I do have issues with pedigrees that have all sorts of issues but are bred for a 'look' but all these stupid named crossbreeds are certainly no better! but naive people may feel they are buying a healthier dog

I do wonder at the reasoning behind all these different crossbreeds. Are there not enough breeds already out there for people to choose one that suits them?

years ago we had lots of mongrels and not so many pedigree dogs around. the mongrels were usually a mix of many breeds and seemed to have less health problems than some pedigrees. as a family we only had mongrels and all lived to a good age and hardly saw the vet..there dont seem to be many heinz 57 dogs any more , unfortunately there are too many back street breeders who only see the money and have no regard for the health and well being of the pups, they sell to anyone who has the money which is why IMO so many of these designer dogs seem to be a liability when being walked in public...
