Hello all!! I'm new to this forum thing and would love to get into it as it has helped me quite a bit so far, coming from a non horsey background, family and friends but having the passion for it myself. I have had lessons for years and never dreamt in a million years I would get my own horse. Sadly, my mother passed away and left me some money to get my own, with starting a job after finishing uni I tracked down Elsie. I'm from lincolnshire.. she was in Kent! After a long journey and a blow out on a motorway, my little angel arrived at her new home and our adventure began.
This is her when she first arrived....
A little on the skinny roachy side but happy as larry munching away in her new home. We had a field shelter that my dad and I have converted into a feed store (deciding to put doors on it as she pulled it all out!) I bought a stable and tack room and my dad and I put electricity in it.
LUCKY GIRL i know....
Me being a nervous novice really rider she has taught so so much. She is honestly the kindest, gentlest most loving horse I have ever met. She will do anything you ask her to and knows me quite well by now that she makes everything easier for me. She will follow me round the field all day and LOVES company - falls asleep when you stroke her and fuss and groom her and she has never put a foot wrong, dogs, cars, lorrys, tractors, crazy sisters, me being a general div, the lot she just takes it in her stride and gives her all. An absolute star.
This is some photos of me riding her and having a play with my best friend...
(Teaching me to be brave, cantering isn't that scary really mummy, its FUN!) And yes this is in a quarry near us! Love it!
(6 year old sister ADORES her and loves going FASTER! - complete opposite to me!)
(Friend of mine making her look beautiful!)
This is us
I know such a boring and long post to read with a lot of pictures, but I can't explain how much I love her and anyone looking to buy their first horse... don't be afraid to keep looking and trying. You'll never forget your first horse and attitude is everything. She is my best friend and I love her with all my heart
