Hi guys,
I'm venturing into the horse world 15 years after my last loan.
So this will be my first 'proper' horse. She's a 9 year old TB, quiet and slow and steady (got sacked from racing because she was top slow!)
I'm so excited, and nervous. I've waited my whole life for this.
She's arriving next Thursday.
Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi because I'm sure I'm gonna be around a lot! X

Not sure if she has raced but if so there is a fb page called thoroughbred transitions. Very useful in understanding why your ex racer might do as she does .

Yes I've got some pics.
Attached one for you!
I can't wait honestly, but I'm also nervous, it's been so long I feel clueless. The yard owner says everyone will help me out though. I couldn't pass up the opportunity for her, I've been looking for a year almost but lockdown prices and scammers have driven me up the wall x

Yes, her TB name is Cayton Bay. Her yard name is Kate but I'm unsure on that. I don't want to change it with her being 9 but my auntie is called Kate and there's a girl on the yard called Kate too!
I have been trying to think of similar names but drawing a blank ?

So I've been thinking about this and her racing name is Cayton Bay, is Cayton a ridiculous name? I quite like Morrigan aswell and Rowena but both of those are obviously nothing like her TB name. Thing is I'm not sure how used to her name she is, everything I've seen just has her labelled as bay TB mare racing name Cayton Bay I don't think she has ever had a stable name x

Well good luck with her! It's such a long time since I bought my horse and he's been gone about 3 years now but it was such a special part of my life.

It keeps saying 'oops we encountered an error'
But while I'm waiting for that to fix itself, she has rain scald, and her back is bare. I'm worried about sunburn, am I best getting a fly rug or a 0 fill rug for her? X
