new paddock long grass

horses summer paddock is looking quite bare they live out 24/7 . they are not having hay at the moment but I can give them hay if required.. Have turned them into the adjoining winter paddock at 8 am this morning. it was mown for hay on June 29th. No fert applied. it has long grass., Do I
1. remove at lunch time today
2.remove at 6pm tonight
3. leave in overnight and remove tomorrow morning
4. leave in permanently ?

Personally, to be cautious, I would take them out a lunchtime today and possibly tomorrow, then leave till 6pm for a couple of days then leave out 24/7 just ot let their metabolism get used to the grass. Just keep an eye that they do not develop a strong pulse in their feet which could be the start of laminitis.

long and lush. I'm thinking the lunchtime option is the best with a little hay later on around 6 pmish then in again tomorrow for the morning.

With the rain and warmer temperatures that are forecast it won't be long before you can move them back into your summer paddock.
