I am looking at getting a Gypsy cob but he is at present unpassported.

My vetsays he needs microchipping by law but cant give me a quote to do
a) the passport
b) the microchip

at the moment as thier system is down.

Can anyone give me a ball park figure of how much it will cost me ?

Shouldn't cost you anything.
It is the seller's responsibility and illegal to sell or travel an equine without a passport.

microchip about £15, filling in passport varies by vet, ID passport application about £20.

Callout for the vet and cost of Microchip......anywhere from £55 upwards (£35 call out £20 to chip).
Possibly another £20 to fill out the passport silhouette and stamp and sign it.
Then you have to pay the Passport Issuer fee's which again varies.
The cost of a non TB passport from weatherby's is £22.85 according to thier website.
£60-80 should get you a passport all in.
