New PE rug arrived..fab but too big!! neck cover too small??HELP

Hi all,

Following on from my thread the other day about a rug that is less likely to rub my horses mane out i ordered the PE turnout the TITAN 200 Detachable Neck, it arrived the next day but on trying it on my horse who is always a 6ft6 and sometimes a 6ft9 in rugs.. it was so big on him!! It hung right past his tail a good few inches past his tail.. so as some of you posted i must need a 6f3 the size down.. i have emailed PE today to confirm that i can send it back for exchange for a 6ft3 but my dilemma is the neck cover.. its medium size.. when he puts his head down it rides back up his neck a bit and then stays down when he puts his head up so i'm thinking he may need a large in that?? Just wanted to know what others thought? Is the large neck cover MASSIVE? so i need a smaller rug and a bigger neck i think :/

Any experiences suggestions would be great before i try and send it back today! Also to those that have sent it back.. have you used royal mail or courier? As i am unsure how much it weighs to send back to give me an idea on price?

Give them a ring, they sorted out a smaller neck for a rug I brought, sent a large with a 6'9 when I needed a medium, no hassle at all. I used Hermes home pick up delivery service the other week for a saddle and that cost £13, I rug should be cheaper then that :)
 
Ring them. Their customer service is great and when I recently returned rugs for an exchange of size, they had a courier pick them up for a fraction of what the postage would be.
They'll also advise you about the neck cover size ... :)
 
Ring them and ask for a different size neck :). One of my girls takes a 6ft 6 but has a long neck so I always ring up to order and ask for the size up neck, PE have always been really helpful when doing this.
 
I gave them a call and they were very lovely, i have arranged Hermes to pick it up on Monday and send it back, have filled out the exchange form for the smaller rug and the large neck cover. My boy has a long neck and although the medium is ok it does ride up his neck when he puts his head down and as im conscious of his mane i decided the bigger one would be much better. Fingers crossed its not mahouusive! :) Thanks everyone, im eally looking forward to geting it back! He looked very mart in it.
 
I have a couple of PE rugs and I love them. Fit my horse pefectly.

I was thinking that they were getting too expensive and a recent thread on here showed a lot of others who though the same. It did put me off getting another PE rug so I started looking at other brands.

Must say that I have come back round to PE and hearing about your experience with their customer service they sound a decent company.
 
I must say this is my first PE rug purchase.. the rug was lovely. Great featured on it like the full velcro down the front etc.. its a lovely smart rug besides it being to long for my boy.. i look forward to receiving the replacement and yes they are lovely to deal with. Fingers crossed i get my replacement and all is well with the fit :) kind of looking forward to it turning cooler so he can wear it.. can't believe i just said that! lol. With rugs i think its worth spending the money for a good well made rug thats going to last a good few seasons.. fingers crossed this one does! :)
