We had the new owners of Casino Royal come and visit us on Monday from the Birmingham region this week and luckily for us Tamara is a keen photographer........

Here are a few pictures she took during her visit. He is just a wee darling and such a fantastic testament to his dad "Royal Geneve".

He leaves us in October for his new home................ have to say will miss his cheekiness and love of life

............just look forward to hearing all the updates and seeing all the new pictures as he grows up........

Thanks Hils, he is going to be very dark
cool.gif
. On his passport he is down as black although I would probably not class him as a true black..........but you never know.....

It will be great to see pictures as he grows up. I think we will put this mare back to Geneve again next year, as we put her to a different stallion this year......although seeing Casino we are now wishing that was not the case.....

He is a bundle of fun with a real zest for life..........

......and again just a wee dude to handle......

Thanks Opie.................its not lack of quality food I can tell you that much.........its nice for someone else to notice, but as you say its been a few weeks since you seen us. Both the foals are starting to bloom after coming home............
wink.gif

Even the other foals now are really looking different to when you guys visited......most have lost their foal coats now and looking like mini horses.....
cool.gif

yes its always hard for mares away from home, they never do quite as well, stress takes it out of horses no matter how much feeding and haylage they get.

The changes the last few weeks are quite remarkable with the foalies shedding out, and like you say looking like mini horses. Can't believe that our mares are now starting to grow their winter coats,

they are at that fuzzy stage with the hair standing up. Grass still in abundance though but will probably start putting haylage out soon, hope the weather keeps good over the next few weeks.

He is a cheeky wee monkey..................LOL..............and BOY is he a poser...

At nights when we bring him in Casino wonders EVERYWHERE.......he knows dash fine where he is going but he must go into every neuk and crany possible until he gets to his stable........

its not the cold that does it its the rapidly shortening days........ its been great weather for us this summer, not too hot, not to cold and certainly havent had all the rain and floods this year. We are on the East coast so its milder drier, no snow and low rain fall, purfect! The climate is so mild the horses happily live out all year round, sometimes we bring them in in really really driving rain but prefer to have them out in the fresh air with adlib haylage and feeding morning and night. A couple that are nlt good doers do get papmered and are stabled but in the main they are out.
Caroline is much further North than us and she sits on the edge of the Moray Firth Estuary, so their climate is harsh, temperature much colder, regular snow and driving gale force winds and rain, hence the reason even in summer the horses are stabled in.

Brrrrrrr Opie is correct.................they are lucky being near the East Coast not far from St Andrews really..........we are North of Aberdeen and get all the blinking cold North winds...............
crazy.gif

Mind you saying that we NORMALLY get our horses out for at least 6-7 weeks during the summer months.....but no way this year...........been far too wet and cold for the wee foalies to go out at night. AND definately NOT during the winter months..............would NEVER leave them out during the winter as we have no shelter at all from the cold weather..........
frown.gif

LOL...........well that is true.................................we have some of the best agriculture land in the UK, nice views etc...................now if we could just transfer all that to somewhere tropical..........................that would be perfect.....
