Had Toby for a week now and he's starting to settle in. He was a bit bolshy to start with but we set some ground rules and have been sticking to them.(do not barge,do not tank off when in hand!!). He's great when ridden and now he's been clipped we've also given him his first experience of the sea-side! Pics to follow.
I wouldn't normally clip so late but he just wasn't getting his summer coat and was sweating every time he was exercised - he is a bit unfit!
He was just really really hairy. I'm not sure he'd been fully clipped before as when we went to do his girth up today (he was clipped yesterday) he kinda freaked. I think it may have been the spiky hair against the fabric girth (he usually has a leather one but I changed it to go to the beach).
I've got the physio coming to see him tomorrow. The saddle man gave us the ok on Friday. The vet gave him a once over as she was at our yard on Wednesday so that just leaves the dentist who I need to call as his records show he hasn't even seen since jan 2012 and he's got a lot of tartar build up.
Be careful 'cos he will be strutting aroung with, new haircut, new teeth , new back , holiday by the seaside and the spring grass ... some of us would aspire to that .. that pony might be full of himself
