New pony is a bit of a fidget on the ground

He moves around a lot when I am grooming him...reckon he could be ticklish? I know that he is still settling in, so I am hoping that he will relax more in his new surroundings with time.

Have you tried giving him some hay/lage to pick at while you're grooming? I always find that that helps to keep them still and teach them your expectations.

I tie mine up and work quickly. He is an arab and very fidgety and thin skinned. I just try to work with him to some extent. The thing I am really firm about though is making him stand when I am mounting.
