New Pony, no saddle.

I am looking at buying a 13.2hh pony and just waiting on the vetting before purchase. the problem is that it comes with a bridle, but no saddle. The owner has changed jobs and so has put it on full livery over the winter with very little exercise. it is therefore overweight, but hopefully with exercise it will lose this.
as i have got to pay for the pony itself, plus vetting and buying new equipment for it, i dont want to spend hundreds of pounds on a new saddle, especially if its shape will change as it gets fitter.
does anyone know of someone in the Tameside (SK15-Mottram) area who sells second hand saddles and/or fits saddles that arent too expensive.
