Hi
Never posted before - so hope you can offer some advice.
Picked up our new 4 year old section A on Saturday to come and live with my 13 year old welsh x 14.1 hh pony. She has lived on her own for 3 years with us and all winter has looked very bored and lonely. So I was feeling guilty and decided to get her a friend. Newbie has come in and he has quickly established himself as the top dog with her - I feed them separately in their stables which is fine, they have separate hay in the field but he chases her from one pile to another! And he always wants to come out of field first and she seems scared to be by him.
I hope I haven't made her life a misery, I thought she'd enjoy being part of a little herd again. Is there anyone that can reassure me that she won't get 'depressed'!
Should I separate them for a bit with electric fencing - do you think that would help? Should I bring him in first or make him wait? Any ideas would be gratefully received!!
Thank you.
