In light of the 'what we love about CR' post I thought I would write a little update on my not-so-new addition Buddy.

So when we went to see him he has what my OH called 'a perfect audition' as even though I was a total nervous nelly -when it comes to other people watching me ride I get totally paranoid and then ride like even more like a numpty(hence very few pics on here ever!) - he was a total star despite lots of comings and goings on around him. Here he is at that first ride:

Anyhoo so he was sold, passed the vetting and made his way down south where he travelled like a dream (had to check at Warwick Services that he was still on board!) and settled in very well.

He has taken everything in his stride, is so talented and is just a lovely lovely person. He hadn't done much hacking before he came here but he has taken to it like a duck to water and enjoys going out exploring, he's one of those horses that storm out the yard and then plod back as they dont really want to go home yet!

A pic on our first solo hack (excuse gimpy face - i think i was mid laugh)

He is having a bit of time off with the snow but he hasn't hotted up or changed his personality at all and is quite enjoying being a snow bunny!

I am still wondering when he will change and become naughty but for now I am just enjoying him being ever so easy! Here's to 2011!

He's gorgeous! What a find- and in the first photo there's grass... Can hardly remember what that looks like anymore...

What are your plans with him? Just have fun doing whatever comes your way?

Yes i was very lucky to come across him :) The grand plan is to event him (I have dreams of a 1*) but we shall see what happens really. He is bred to SJ and has the scope and can move but you just never know until you try do you?

I know... grass! Bliss!

Looks a lovely boy - well done!
How old is he and what has he done so far? How is he bred?
We need more info ;):)
Ha ha ok - you asked for it ;)

He's 4 (august baby) by Handel out of a mare by Gino. He'd done a handful of BN double clears before I got him but his flatwork needs a fair bit of work. He has fab paces, very correct and elavated. But most importantly he is a total sweetheart! He has taken to nannying the older horses past scary things - he really has a 'not bovvered' attitude which makes such a change from my last boy!

Ooh sounds very exciting!! Handel used to jump at some of the shows I competed at in the early 1990s - stunning horse and amazing jumper :)
And wow - so chilled for his age. Sounds a VERY exciting prospect :D hope you have a fun season next year with him. How big is he - he looks quite big in the pics

Thank you so much everybody, am super pleased with him :D

DarkHorse - he's just 16.2 apparently but need to get the stick on him. He seems quite small to me as my last boy was a big 16.3/17 and he's definately not as big as him!
