Just thought I would post a few pictures as I'm on a bit of a high about the new pony we've bought. He's been with us for a week now and hasn't put a foot wrong.
I was looking for something to give my 13 year old son confidence as his first pony is very nappy off the lead rein, something that my 7 year old son could grow into over the next year or so (he's currently riding the sec A on the lead rein) and something big enough that I can school and hack out on when needed.
Raffles is 13'2", 17 years old and has pony clubbed etc. He passed the vetting with flying colours and we brought him home last Saturday. He was the only pony we went to see, which is always a bit of a worry!
On Wednesday I hacked him out on his own and we encountered horses grazing, noisy tractors, a very busy farm yard, trotted up some country lanes, cantered up a lovely long grassy slope, met some dogs enjoying the countryside off the lead and then lastly met three noisy cross country motorbikes - no problems with any of them! I am not much of a happy hacker following years of exciting rides with my old girl (not naughty, just sharp) but I actually enjoyed this ride!! :)

Anyway, pictures:

(Excuse the jeans, he's a boy and not keen on jods unless he has to wear them!!)

And one of Milligan because he's beautiful, even if he is a monster!
