Hello everyone :)
So as i posted a couple of weeks ago, i got a new loan horse, Marley. Well, she never came home. I went to ride her on monday after i tried her on friday, she was like a changed horse, kept spooking at things, very nervy and wouldn't settle, then she took off and spun round so i fell off, on her way to gate she stood on my leg so since i have been struggling with that, luckily my bones are very hard so thats not broken but my calf muscle was crushed so have had to lie in bed with leg elevated and eat painkillers. The problem was, i clicked with the horse on friday but i did not click with it at all on monday, i also have my GCSE's coming up soon so mum was not happy that i have to miss school, so the decision was final that she will not be coming home.
A few weeks later, and it seems that everything really does happen for a reason. Without a horse atm i am less tired so finding it a lot easier to learn, grades have improved slightly. BUT of course as you all know, it is impossible to stay sane without horses, so i have been a bit of a pain at home, don't know what to do with myself and just sit about doing nothing and as mum says 'getting in the way'.
Luckily, one of my friends has a horse that is just coming back from loan, i absolutely adore that horse, she is the lovliest little girl ever and so sweet. Friend has 5 horses in total, 4 here atm, 3 of which are in full work so will struggle to keep this horse in full work as well as the rest, so i am now going to ride her a couple of times a week and treat her like my own :)
As well as this, my mums friend suggested i ride her warmblood mare and compete her too. So now i have 2 horses to ride and enjoy but if i'm struggling with school work, both horses still have their owners there, so i can take a break if i have to. Best of both worlds i think :D
So i ride the big mare once a week and my other more my baby is coming home tomorrow lunchtime :)
I know you lot like pictures so here are some of the big horse and the new ponio thats coming home tomorrow :)

Thats great news (about the two other horses I mean) Sorry it didn't work out with Marley but as you say everything happens for a reason and the new plan sounds more sensable esp at GCSE time ;) :D I hope you have lots of fun with your two new rides :)

I'm so pleased it worked out well in the end :)
I know how you feel about the school/horse balance as I made the decision not to buy/loan a horse when I was doing my GCSE's. I'm now in my final year of A level and despite still being horseless I know I made the right decision as my grades would seriously have suffered. I am going to spend the summer working at a friends polo and racing yard so its not all bad :D

I'm glad to hear that i'm not the only one that has made that decision. I did feel a bit like i'm a wimp and i'm giving up because i have a few friends with their own horses in my year and managing fine but both seem to have their mums doing most of the chores and paying all the costs hence they're managing fine. I had to have 2 jobs to be able to keep my last loan horse, plus it was on DIY livery so had to do all the chores :) This way i'm able to drop one job and still enjoy horses with more time for studies.

You've definately made the right decision and at last you'll still be able to ride your friends horse lots :)
