On wednesday we got a Pony! She is the first I've had since childhood and is for my daughter although if I keep my weight down I can ride her.

She is a 10 year old Fell mare called Hannah Grace. So far she is settling in nicely and is proving to be pretty indestructable. We gave her a much needed bath with a jcb whizzing in & out of the yard! She is on trial at the moment and we can then decide whether to buy her or have her on long term loan.

Hope the pics work!

Making friends with the Minis

What a pretty pony and your daughter looks like she is so happy and pleased....how will you send this one back...i think its a done deal?

She is a real beauty - but watch those minis don't eat her lovely tail. My cob was turned out with a gaggle of minis once and they made a very quick job of giving him a tail trim. Stupid soft horse - he's too nice, should have have booted them out of the way!

The muchkins are little s0ds!!! proper instigators of trouble, looks are deceptive
I'm waiting for the saddle fitter to come then we're away. We've got a new school surface coming in the week so I'm going to get on board once thats in.
I'm pretty sure she's come into season today too - she's peeing for England  the joys of having a mare!

So I'm pretty happy with the little lady so far. Its a big step from being a sharer & having the occasional loan from a riding school to being an owner - gulp!

Liz66 - thanks for the tip, one of the conditions of the loan were to keep her mane and tail in show condition I think her owner would have my guts for garters if they ate her tail!!!
She's only having the odd half hour with them under close supervision. My nerves wouldn't take leaving them together - the Minis are such trouble makers!

Thank you everyone :) She's had the farrier out today and she stood like a lamb. I am getting rather attatched and we've not even got a saddle yet! - I think I have jinxed Nottinghamshires saddle fitters, they keep breaking down or have a crisis and cancel on me.
I think she's a keeper :D
