New pony

Hi, I'm getting a new pony shortly! I was wondering what is the best way to bond with him and when I should start exercising him? Does anyone have a sort of timetable as to when you should do things with them and what to do? (I have had ponies before but they were unbroken) x

hi bet you are really excited! is it a gelding or a mare? mares as you know can be a little tetchy in season! The best way to bond I would say is spending time grooming and walking inhand round lanes etc. Remember that a horse understands everything you SAY so make sure you talk these worries to the pony and see what comes back..
no timetable why put yourself under pressure? make sure you have reg teeth checks and hoof trims-worth every penny-try not to feed by hand-put carrotts on floor-good luck!

A gelding...much easier than mares! Okay thanks, he definatly needs to be fed from the floor as he is already a nibbler haha x
