Got this little bargain today. Will spend the next few months doing it up and getting it usable again. Anyone have a bahill they can show me so I get a feel for how they look In good order? Also any other info you can give would be cool. How to age it or where to find spares etc.

I bought a tired Bahill about 15yrs ago and spent the summer doing it up. I took out the floor which was rotten, rubbed down all the metal supports under the floor and coated them in anti-rust and hammerite. I sanded the trailer down and used silicon sealant around all the joins where the aluminium met the steel. Repainted with yacht paint and had the floor fitted. Pretty sure i rewired the lights myself too so it can't have been difficult.
Any bits I needed came from my local Ifor Williams dealer who also services other trailers. I got a few replacement bits on ebay too. He also cut down the partition as it was so heavy, he took about 3ft of the wood off which means I can now move it without help and swing it to either side.
Its a great little trailer, and still going strong if a bit tatty now. I think putting the sealant round the joins really helped keep the water away from the floor.
I did take before and after photos but it was before digital photography and I'm afraid they are hidden away in a box somewhere!

Alternative to silicon for isolating ali and steel is 1mm self-adhesive neoprene tape.....you really need to pop the panels off and make surer the isolator sits between all the two metals.

Are you planning a total nut-and-bolt job (fun but lots of work) or a spruce up?

Doubt Bahill parts as such will still be available but a good dealer will suggest alternatives. If any tin needs replacing that can be fabricated (quite) easily) by a metal fab shop....

Going for a full refurbishment. It's basically a shell however the axel and wheels seem in great condition. The brake cables were cut off so that's going to be the first thing after the floor comes up. Might get away with the loading ramps not being done but will see. Someone thought it was a super idea to put carpet on every part of it so that all needs to come off! Definitely hope to make a profit on it.
