A couple of you may remember my post a while before Christmas, we lost our bitch (of a brother and sister pair) suddenly at 4 1/2 years old to a suspected heart attack and I was worried how our boy would cope without his sister as they'd never spent a day apart. He was on a downer for a little while and then picked right up but then seemed to mellow out more than his usual self.

Even though we were never going to have dogs, ever, as a family we got one, then another, lost one, got two... none of the dogs were ever going to be replaced but thats not happened again!

Me and my dad went on a little trip and picked a puppy at the beginning of Feb and we were trying to keep it as a suprise from my mum but we panicked when she started looking at litters on the internet and in the local freeads!

Please meet Cassie

When we first met her at 3 1/2 weeks old

She seems to have settled right in, Harley tells her off for biting his feet and tail, she's slowly learning!

Enjoy!

Ah she's lovely. I am in a similar situation in that I lost my dog in Jan to a massive heart attack and my other was looking for him for a while. She has settled now and I will get another but its still to raw at the moment.

Enjoy your puppy and its good to know the remaining dog accepts the new arrival.x

Thanks for the lovely comments.

FayeFriesian - All four of our previous dogs have been GRs, they've all been fab with great temperaments, although seemingly not quite all the ticket! Sorry to hear of your recent loss though.

BBH - Sorry to hear of you loss too. Its so hard for us, surely it must be the same, if not worse, for the pooches. I still well up sometimes thinking of our first two dogs, we lost the first 5yrs ago next Tues and the second 2 yrs ago next month.

She's absolutely adorable, lucky you! We've always had goldies in the past. We lost our first one 4 years ago at the age of 14 and our other one in January at the grand old age of 17. We have now got a black lab puppy but I will always have a soft spot for goldies. They are wonderful dogs, I hope you have lots of fun with her.

Thanks :)

Seafarer - They're fake but I've no idea how my mum keeps them on with mucking out mon - fri and rug changing!!

Bertie_Boo - Wow, 19 and 19 are fantastic ages!!
