Ha ha! Yes, it's quite the ordeal. After having been turned down by one rescue, from whom I have previously had (and still have) a dog, for a different (and also beautiful) puppy for being, wait for it......"too old for a puppy", this one is from a different rescue. She's a lovely little dear .Oh Cortez! What a little stunner, and she just loves the camera. I think I may have seen her being advertised by the rescue? You actually managed to get a rescue dog in Ireland, did you bribe them or steal her away in your poacher's pocket? Does she have a name yet?
for, wait for it......being "too old for a puppy",
Actually I do see their point. If she lives a long life I could well be 78 (or dead) by the time she's leaving the mortal coil, and many dogs end up in rescue after their elderly owners either die, go into care or become incapable of looking after them. I do have plans in place for mine should that happen, though.Cheeky feckers!

Saluki. She will be a bit bigger than a whippet, I think. From a litter of five abandoned in a ditch, full of worms and sick with parvo.Sweet! I’m trying to work out what the non-whippet part is, do you know?

I have a TINY whippet, but she didn't have a very good start either and arrived a skeleton. People have suggested that she's part Italian Greyhound, but I think not.I did wonder Saluki from the set of the ears, but didn’t like to guess. Sweet little girl, all whippets seem to be bigger than in previous years.

So, this has just arrived. Approx. 12 week old whippet lurcher, from a rescue. She's been good as gold so far - 4 hours, so plenty of scope for mischief yet.
I had a saluki X greyhound X Deerhound; he was the calmest, most noble sweetheart of a dog, absolute gentleman. She seems very sweet and soft so far......OK, it's been 7 hours - there's plenty of time fr the madness to ensue.. Let the mayhem ensue!!
