Not had a dog for a while and just want to check I've got everything I'll need on the list!

- BED (thinking cardboard box while it's little with a blanket (2 - one in wash one in bed), then onto a soft bed)
- PUPPY FOOD - some of whatever they're feeding it to help it change over, then pick a brand. Anyone know one that's good but reasonably priced? Always had Eukanuba before but with this credit crunch...
- WATER BOWL
- FOOD BOWLS (2) (so can stick in dishwasher as puppy will eat more often than I run it!)
- CHEW TOYS
- SOFT CUDDLY TOY
- COLLAR WITH IDENTI TAG
- LEAD

Anything else?

beta is quite a good puppy food.
a crate as well, i've crate trained my dogs and it's less stressful for me doing it this way. less chance of accidents or the pup chewing something they shouldn't.

Maybe a babygate/wood up at the stairs, Just while theyre young. And also my nan had a dog hutch (See robinsons catolgue) to put the dog in while your out so he cant chew all the wood.

Agree with Brontie and Kao, I had a crate for both of my dogs which worked wonders. And then a stair gate for the kitchen door, which is definatly handy if you need to pop out of the room in a rush, doesn't need to be expensive - mine is Argos!

I changed our pup onto Beta puppy food once she had settled down. She is doing very well on it. I would recommend a crate, helps with house training and stops the pup wrecking the place in your absence. Mine loves her crate, and my older dog often joins her in it! Good luck with your puppy!

I would crate train her...the stress and anxiety trying to introduce a one later both to your self and the dog is not worth it.....

believe me....there has been many a post re dogs chewing and causng destruction or having seperation anxiety, and 50% of our rescues come to us for this exact reason.
Its just like a little safety den and it's fab for the toilet traning process

Agree.
Aside from anything else,it gives them somewhere that belongs to them which makes them feel safe(Aunts great danes have one and still run to hide in it when when cat reminds them who is boss

).
You might never want or need one in later life, but if you do the dog will know what it is and be happy to use it.

You may also want some treats for when you're training him/her, you can get puppy treats which are softer, or small pieces of cheese also work

You'll definetely need loads of poo bags

You'll also probably want a bucket and mop for accidents, and a deoderising spray.

I think you have about everything you need...Personally, i don'y buy anything for a new puppy apart from the essentials...bowls, leash and food...I don't have insurance on any of my animals, as much as people don't agree with this...It's a personal choice... and its always worked for me and my dogs....
I'm not a fan of crates unless absolutely necessary....People survived with dogs and puppies perfectly fine before all this crate hype came about.....

As for treats, etc....Personally i make my own as i wouldn't want a new puppy consuming additives and all that sorta rubbish in these commercial treats... And as for brand of food, can't really help there as i feed BARF..

Only thing i would invest in thats not on your list is training aids/gear... But that totally depends on what breed of dog you own

I own all working dogs, 1 gundog and 2 sheepdogs, and i start training from young...only fun stuff though! Like i say however, it totally depends on the breed.

Goodluck, hope you enjoy many happy times with your new furry friend!

Apparently chappie is ment to be quite good for pups. Definatly pooper scooper and LOTS of kitchen towel/newspaper. Also stairsgate was a must for us to help them learn the boundries. Good luck!
