I very sadly lost my 15 year old Labrador in May last year to heart failure. A huge, huge loss as she was my first dog and I was given her when I was just 11 years old. Even now people still say they can't believe she's gone and they wouldn't be surprised if I appeared with her!

For a long time I've not felt ready for another dog, and despite being offered many puppies I've turned them all down. Fast forward to December and I decided the time was right.... three hours later I picked this fella up - I can be a bit impulsive at times!!

Introducing Rupert at 8 weeks...

And now, at 10 weeks old having as good as doubled in size!!

I will let you guess what breed he is :)

I am very pleased that you have followed hho rules and posted pictures :D

He's adorable, I'm sorry you lost your other dog, but what a lovely long life :)

What a wonderful age your Labrador reached and having had her in childhood, it must have been so difficult not to have her around. So glad you have found room in your heart to love again. Gorgeous puppy pictures!

Thanks everyone, she was the most amazing childhood dog ever and nothing short of an angel she gave me a great grounding to dog ownership.

My three rules for a new dog was no boys, no labradors and nothing bigger than a spaniel. I can tell you now I failed on all three so he is Labarador x Lurcher!!

he is lovely, i was going to say whippet/lab and maybe a bit of patterdale.......your lab was also lovely and you did well to get her to 15 but its never easy to lose them. hopefully rupert will help you to enjoy having a dog again...
